A concert review of the concert Sophie gave on 15 june 2002 on the Hultsfred Fesival that summer.
Sophie Zelmani
Hultsfred.
Concert rating:++
On record, Sophie Zelmani has an impressive ability to elaborate on her tranquil expressions by small, small means. She always manages to change and fine tune her basic concept with every new record. But her film like beautiful mixture of dreamy country and whispering rock has always been rather shy and pointless live. This sparse gig is no exception. Zelmani seems genuinely uninterested in, like Sade and Lambchop, making the best of and intensify her low voice melancholy on stage. Strong songs like "Going home" and "Moonlight" deserve a more inspired treatment.
